Smierweida

Depicting a small station and goods depot in Southern Germany in ‘TT’ gauge. All the stock comes from the former East Germany and requires careful handling as replacement parts are virtually impossible to find.

The points and uncoupling sections are hand operated by push wires or rods, while the working road crossing barriers are electrically powered.  The advantage of this small layout is that it can be folded in two for easier transportation.

This layout has recently been upgraded and now has an additional new section also built by folding in two and this doubles the size of the existing layout. The main feature of the extension is a large station building as well as additional sidings.

The two sections of the layout can be operate independently from each other or joined together as one complete layout.
